We decided to start ahead of time — to be ready for English when it began in second grade.
We started with the MEB "Reading" course, and it was the best decision we could have made. My daughter didn't just learn to read — she now reads books on her own.
Now we're working through Beginner, and every time I hear her speaking I light up. She talks in full sentences, comments on things, asks questions, plays with words. She isn't memorizing — she's speaking.
